Rural House Photo Exhibition opens in Tehran

The 2nd edition of the Rural House Photography Exhibition opens in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

The second edition of the Rural House Photography Exhibition has opened in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.

The Rural House exhibit opened at the Imam Ali (AS) Museum in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on January 19 and will continue until February 9.

Over 120 photographs selected from among a total of over 5,200 photos taken by 1,312 participants will be featured at the exhibit.

The featured photographs are on six topics: old life-new form, new life-old form; interrelation between village culture and architecture; livelihood-oriented rustic house; architecture of rural home; rural house and natural disasters; and environment-friendly fabrics.

The exhibition and its competition section are aimed at documenting rural architecture in Iran, while also helping to identify the effects of climate, economy, culture, society and nature on rural fabrics.

The two competition sections are ‘Single Photo’ and ‘Comparative Photos’, with the latter highlighting the changes through time.

Three photographers will receive cash prizes in the Single Photo section, while the Comparative Photos section will have only one winner.

Iran’s rural regions provide a golden opportunity for tourists to discover a more laid-back and friendly feature of the country.

Earlier this month, Iran's First Vice President paid a visit to the second Exhibition of Villagers and Nomad Capabilities in the Tehran International Permanent Fairground. His visit highlighted the capacities of Iran villages, presenting the glamour of Iran’s rural areas in terms of tourism.
